Junior Red Ball Tennis Competition Tennis is played 9:30am Sunday.
The latest Nepean District Tennis Association Newsletter is available on line below.
This extremely popular junior tournament is scheduled for Sunday 6th May 2012 at our Woodriff Gardens courts, and we encourage all local juniors to enter.
The tournament is part of the Central West MJDS series, and consists of singles events in 21 and under, 16 and under, 14 and under, 12 and under, and 10 and under age groups, for boys and girls (age as at 31st October 2012).
The format of play is round robin, so you’re guaranteed a minimum of at least 4 sets (a lot more if you progress through the playoffs). Players come from everywhere, so it’s a really good opportunity to play different (and better) players.
The finals of the term 1 Saturday Morning Singles Competition were held last Saturday morning and there were some extremely close and tense matches. Results are given below. The next competition starts on 21st April, with entries closing on 11th April.
The championships were held on Sunday 11th March, 2012
Big thank you to all the helpers, especially Elton Stoney, Dennis Kassimatia, Carey Anderson, Simon Young and all the parents that keep an eye on the matches, and a special thank you too the juniors who not only showed good sportsmanship but the more experience ones help the less experienced.
The Autumn team competitions are making excellent progress as we enter the school holiday break, while the term 1 singles competitions have all been completed and we are now calling for entries for term 2:
Saturday Afternoon Mixed
With two rounds to go, all five teams are still in the running in division 1, while in division 2 the two teams who came down from division 1 are the pacesetters. Some players still need to complete their Association memberships for 2012.
Night Mixed
Division 1 is progressing very well on Wednesday night, while division 2 on Monday night has fallen to a very critical low of three teams. The three teams are extremely keen, so we need to build this up again for the next competition.
District Veterans’ Championships Back on Calendar
